We are very pleased to add Josh Willamson to our little team, handling the Heartburst online activity for the next few months. Josh is a recent graduate of Thomas Rotherham College where he studied Media & Film, as well as working at the globally respected Sheffield International Documentary Festival, Doc/Fest, for the last two editions. Josh will be based at his own Auteur Studios office in Sheffield and is also planning to attend selected film and music events on behalf of Heartburst Management in the coming weeks and months. You can follow his work at our Facebook page and on our Twitter profile. You can say hi to Josh and keep in touch with him on his own professional Facebook profile and at [email protected] Heartburst is happy to be moving into its new office space today at Torstraße 171, Berlin. From here we will be working full-time on our main projects for 2015, including the wonderful Nordic Playlist project for NOMEX- The Nordic Music Export Program, and the highly successful Reeperbahn Festival which takes place in Hamburg next September. In fact, we will be part of the new Reeperbahn Festival Berlin office and will be sharing the building with other like-minded and lively companies such as Zentralrat Mitte, Büro Doering, and Kruger Media so we are looking forward to plenty of cooperation and collaboration on various projects in the coming months. In Finland, we discovered a lovely tradition where visitors would bring cake to meetings while the hosts provided the coffee so, anytime you are in Berlin and fancy dropping by to see us, don't forget the cake! We'll take care of the rest. See you soon! Paul I am delighted to have joined the excellent Reeperbahn Festival team for 2015. I will work for the event as an International Project Manager, focusing mainly on coordinating new delegates and organisations from specific markets such as Asia, USA, Eastern Europe, and the Nordics. This is a nice challenge and a perfect way for me to continue to work with some of the marvelous people I have got to know over the previous few years. Reeperbahn Festival is an event I have attended for several years and admit that I have admired it from afar. I have been consistently impressed by the positive growth of the festival as a business platform so being invited to now join the organisation is a tremendous opportunity for me to try to contribute towards the success that the very impressive team has already created. I continue to run my own consultancy company, Heartburst Management, and Reeperbahn Festival will be one of my main projects for the company in 2015. Other projects and clients that Heartburst Management will be working with can be found here. If you are visiting Berlin then you can find me at the new office at Torstraße 171 where I’d be pleased to invite you to visit for coffee, cake, and a chat. Looking forward to telling you more in 2015. Have a great year everyone. For Reeperbahn Festival-related mails please use [email protected] I can confirm that I will be leaving my position as International Relations Coordinator for Berlin Music Week at the conclusion of my current contract at the end of September 2014. With the management of the event changing hands once again this year it is an ideal time to reevaluate the situation and it feels right to be stepping out of the project after this year’s event. Into the current Berlin Music Week project, I was asked to bring my knowledge of the music business, my international contacts, and my experience of working on similar events and I am satisfied that I have been able to deliver on my directive in the relatively short time I have been involved in this role. When I joined the project in 2012 it had virtually no international profile, few working relationships with the international music industry organisations, and an incomplete database of relevant business contacts, so I am very pleased to have been able to contribute significantly towards building the Berlin Music Week brand within the industry in such a short space of time and to the point where Berlin can once again offer to be a serious business platform for international professionals in the German market. As I leave the project, it is clear that the professional strategy put in place for achieving the aim of bringing the business back to Berlin is moving in the right direction. Certainly, the event is now in a strong position to capitalize on the effective promotional work I have helped implement in the last couple of years and I look forward to visiting the latest version of the event as a delegate myself in 2015. I fully hope and expect things to take a further step in the right direction. In the meantime, following this year’s edition of Berlin Music Week, I will concentrate on continuing to build my own consultancy company, Heartburst Management - which was launched at the start of this year, and will be excited to be able to put more energy and expertise in to other projects I believe in and feel worthy of. I send heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported me in my work so far. As an independent business, it really is truly appreciated. Don't let this stop you coming to see us at Berlin Music Week this year though! It tales place 03-07 September and it really is going to be great: http://www.berlin-music-week.de Paul It's yet another new year, here on planet Earth. Still, the world keeps turning and the new years keep coming around. But now, in 2014, we see the parturition of something else new; a company called Heartburst. It is a sweet little thing, crafted carefully by hand, head and, of course, heart into a form we can recognise, appreciate and quickly learn to love. Based in Berlin and working internationally in the music and creative industries, Heartburst operates predominately as a consultant for several substantial clients; from large government and cultural offices organising music events in Berlin, to boutique festivals in the Baltics, to emerging artists from Scandinavia. Head of Heartburst, Paul Cheetham, is perhaps known for being inspired by artistic values as much as business, a true music-lover and believer in succeeding through hard work, positive thinking, and an altruistic approach towards cooperating with colleagues and clients. Heartburst maintains a genuine passion for what it does and aims to provide a professional, reliable, and rewarding service in everything the company offers and undertakes. |
